Adult Video Platforms: Traffic, Ownership and Access Trends

A transparent baseline of web activity across 13 standalone adult video platforms, combining Similarweb estimated visits with Night Analytics ownership mapping and dated access or regulatory events.

Adult video platforms are among the largest standalone web properties in the adult digital industry, but broad “adult website” rankings often mix fundamentally different products — video platforms, live cams, creator subscriptions, clip stores and aggregators — into one list.

Night Analytics Research uses a narrower, function-based population. This baseline tracks 13 adult-first platforms whose primary public product is on-demand browsing or streaming of a multi-video catalog. We then separate brand identity, web property and verified ownership so that traffic patterns are not mistaken for corporate structure.

The first release covers July through September 2026. Traffic figures are Similarweb estimates for global desktop and mobile web activity, not first-party analytics or unique-user counts. Because the baseline is only three months long, it establishes a reproducible starting point rather than a long-run claim about the sector.

Key findings

What the baseline shows

1

Four platforms account for 80.2% of tracked September activity

Pornhub, xHamster, XVideos and Eporner together account for 80.2% of September estimated visits across Comparable Panel v1: 25.1%, 23.9%, 18.7% and 12.6%, respectively.

This is tracked-panel concentration, not full economic market share or an antitrust market definition.

2

Verified ownership mapping raises top-four concentration to 83.5%

Five included brands — Pornhub, RedTube, YouPorn, Tube8 and Thumbzilla — map to the Aylo / Ethical Capital Partners group and together account for about 28.3% of September estimated visits in the panel.

Eporner ultimate ownership remains unresolved; 83.5% is a known-ownership-adjusted measure.

3

September was lower than July across every tracked primary domain

Combined estimates were 5.290B in July, 5.174B in August and 4.767B in September. September was 9.9% below July; the median platform change was −10.7%.

Three months are not enough to establish a structural decline or causal regulatory effect.

Secondary observation

Share shifted even while absolute visits fell

Relative position changed inside the declining panel. From July to September, Eporner gained about 0.70 percentage points of tracked-panel share, xHamster gained about 0.48 pp and XVideos gained about 0.35 pp. XNXX lost about 0.71 pp, Pornhub about 0.39 pp and SpankBang about 0.28 pp.

A gain in tracked-panel share does not mean absolute traffic increased. Eporner, for example, gained share because its estimated visits fell less than the panel overall.

Coverage

What the panel includes — and deliberately excludes

Included

The panel contains 13 adult-first standalone video platforms with stable primary properties and compatible Similarweb observations for July, August and September 2026.

Pornhub, RedTube, YouPorn, Tube8, XVideos, XNXX, xHamster, Eporner, Thumbzilla, Beeg, SpankBang, YouJizz and Xfree.

Excluded from the core panel

Live-cam-first services, creator/subscription platforms, clip stores, aggregators/directories, image-first galleries, mainstream mixed-content platforms, and inactive or disrupted properties whose continuity cannot be responsibly established.

Regional domains, language origins and mirrors are mapped as properties rather than automatically counted as separate platforms.

Similarweb estimated global desktop + mobile web visits. Panel share is calculated only across the 13 Comparable Panel v1 primary properties. Values are not unique users and do not include app usage unless reflected in web activity.

Methodology summary

Define the population before measuring it

Adult Video Platform eligibility is functional: a service must be an adult-first standalone web platform whose primary public product is on-demand browsing or streaming of a multi-video catalog. Broad vendor “Adult” categories are discovery inputs, not the population definition.

For baseline v1, Night Analytics froze a 13-platform Comparable Panel and collected the same three complete monthly Similarweb estimated-visit observations for each primary domain. Brand, property and corporate-group identities remain separate.

Traffic figures are Similarweb estimates. Night Analytics calculations include tracked-panel share, short-window percentage change and concentration measures. These metrics do not measure revenue, unique customers, total pornography consumption or full economic market share.

Limitations

What this baseline cannot establish

Three-month window. The baseline cannot establish long-run growth or decline.

Estimated traffic. Similarweb values are modeled estimates rather than first-party analytics.

Defined panel. The panel is not every pornography-related site or service.

Ownership gaps. Unresolved entities are treated conservatively as separate ownership buckets.

Events are context. Regulatory or access changes are not treated as causal explanations without a causal design.
